So much to do... So little time!

Hi all! It's been a crazy few weeks to say the least. I have been super busy trying to get back in the school routine. My classroom turned out really cozy and colorful. I wanted to post some pics, but I keep forgetting to take my camera to school. We've been in school for two weeks and I am getting ready to start my version of the Daily 5 this week. We have gone through the explanations and expectations of each round this past week. I have shown them how to use the rotation cards, where all supplies live and we've even done a mock run down. I'm hoping it all goes well this week (fingers crossed). This is how daily works in my classroom. I have mixed dominant language kids in my class. That means that some of my kids first language is English and the other half have done Reading instruction in Spanish since Pre-K. Second grade is known as the "transition grade." That means that once the spanish kids have reached a certain reading level in spanish-they are ready to make the switch to english. Believe me-this is no easy task. It is for this reason that I have replaced "Read to Someone" with "Meet With Teacher". I also have the traditional "Work on Writing" which shares its spot with "Work on Words", "Read To Self" and "Listen to Reading" . I wanted to post the rotation cards I created for this year, along with a master schedule that I keep on my teacher table. I'm a bit OCD so my kids don't get free choice, it just saves alot of time. I'll post some pics this week of my classroom-promise. Thanks for taking the time to visit me! Round Cards
